Biography
Vuk Vuckovic is an acclaimed artist and entrepreneur, born in 1986 in Pančevo, Serbia. He graduated with a degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2010, where he also enrolled in doctoral art studies the same year. He has been a member of ULUS and an independent artist since 2011.
In 2015, together with his wife Iva, he founded the company "Wolf Art". The primary activity of this small family business is the production and sale of paintings, prints, and other products based on Vuk's artwork. Wolf Art studio has been progressing year by year, expanding its premises, starting its own production (mini print shop), and hiring its first employees. Since 2019, Vuk has established the "Award for Young Artists from Pančevo," and in 2024, Wolf Art opened its gallery in Pančevo.
Vucković has had regular exhibition activities since 2007, with 30 solo exhibitions and over 120 group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. In 2021, based on his exceptional achievements in his field, Vuk received a green card and began living and working between the United States and Serbia. During his time in the U.S., he participated in several solo and group exhibitions.
Vucković's body of work mainly consists of paintings done in various techniques, often making sharp turns in themes, techniques, and painting styles, making the works seem almost incompatible with a single author. However, these are well-thought-out and packaged series that can be divided into approximately ten different solo series: Lost Paradise (2007-2009), Factory (2009-2010), ScanMan (2010-2012), Fetish (2013-2014), Cosmic Landscapes (2010-2020), Exciting Cities (since 2015), Art Lover (since 2020), Patterns (since 2022).
He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including: the November Award of the City of Pančevo (2019), First Prize for Painting from the Niš Art Foundation (2017), Erste Bank Art Award (2012), Five Best Exhibitions of 2011 according to Novosti critics, First Prize for Drawing from the Vladimir Veličković Fundation (2011), Special Recognition at the international exhibition "Transform" (2011), Art Clinic "Perspective" (2010), Award for Creative Innovation "Miloš Bajić" (2010), and the FLU Mosaic Award (2009).
Vucković's works are included in numerous important collections, such as: the Museum of the City of Novi Sad, the Zepter Museum, the Telenor Collection, Raiffeisen Bank, Philip Morris, the collections of the British and Serbian royal families, the City of Pančevo, the British Embassy in Belgrade, the Consulate of Serbia in New York, the Serbian Embassy in Washington, the Office of the City of Vienna – Eurocomm PR, Belgrade Waterfront, HIP Petrohemija, and many other private collections.
Vuk's digital prints are popular worldwide, serving as official souvenirs of Belgrade and Novi Sad, diplomatic gifts, and corporate presents for notable organizations like Coca-Cola, British American Tobacco SEE, Air Serbia, Microsoft, MK Group…
Vucković was a successful swimmer, athlete, and a member of the Serbian triathlon team for many years, winning several Balkan and national championships. He continues to run, swim, hike, and canoe recreationally. Outside of his professional pursuits, he finds fulfillment in his role as a father, prioritizing family values alongside his career ambitions.
